Foundation Supports Agriculture's Personal Side
From its first day, KRVN has been the Rural Voice of Nebraska. The Nebraska Rural Radio Association is still owned by more than 4,000 farmers and ranchers. Governed by a 9-person Board of Directors, there are 6 radio stations in the Rural Radio Network: KNEB AM/FM, KTIC AM/FM and KRVN AM/FM.
Max Brown, General Manger 1951-1979 This belief in agriculture began with the first general manager, Max Brown and the tradition continues. Son, Eric, succeeded his father as general manager in 1979. After a KRVN annual meeting one year, a member asked Eric if KRVN had a Foundation. He said no. She said, "Well, why don't you?" That stuck with him, so after his father passed away in December 2004, Eric created the Nebraska Rural Radio Foundation and designated his father's memorials to the Foundation.
Today, the Foundation is another way for the Nebraska Rural Radio Association to serve agriculture by helping individuals participate in educational programs so they can continue to be viable and contributing members of Nebraska's rural landscape. Within these pages, you will find the Foundation Officers and Board of Directors, and find out how to give through donations, or how to receive by applying for scholarships.
